David Y. Martin, Jr., Inc. is the corporate name of our company. You will recognize us doing business as Wines Unlimited; Martin Wine Cellar, Baton Rouge; Martin Wine Cellar, Magazine; Martin Wine Cellar, Mandeville; and Martin Wine Cellar, Metairie.
David Y. Martin, Jr. founded Martin Wine Cellar in Uptown New Orleans in 1946. Mr. Martin went into business in a 15–foot long store and a back stock consisting of a single case of Canada Dry soda. Just over 60 years later and while the original location on Baronne St. has not reopened following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, additional Martin Wine Cellar locations operate today: Metairie added in 1989, Mandeville added in 2005, and Baton Rouge and Magazine added in 2006.

- Deli Front Counter Clerk
Part Time and Full Time. Days, evenings, weekends. The primary purpose is to assist customers in an effort to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. As the front line of customer service for the Deli, recognizing that the customer always comes first and acting as such is a must. Responsible to assist customers in all aspects from filling and retrieving orders, answering phones, and ringing up sales.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Six (6) months to a year of related experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Responsible Vendor Certification required.
- Skills: Typing, reading, writing and answering multiple phone lines required, experience with PosiTouch, AS400, and ability to use general deli equipment preferred.
- Physical Abilities: Regular standing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands/arms, and talking or hearing; frequent lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and walking; occasional sitting, climbing (ladder), stooping, kneeling or bending, tasting or smelling, work in cooler and near oven/stove, and exposure to fumes (gas/smoke), general cleaning chemicals and outdoor weather conditions.

- Bistro–Deli Assistant Manager
Full Time position with excellent salary and benefits. 5–day workweek, rotating schedule includes evenings and weekends with occasional day shifts. Culinary education, fine dining, and management experience a plus. The primary purpose is to assist the Bistro and Deli Manager in overseeing the workings of all aspects of assigned deli/catering location. Involved in controlling and ensuring the output of all deli/catering departments. Responsible for all aspects of employee relations including ensuring that employees complete their responsibilities to achieve profitability and customer satisfaction. Expected to actively participate in store promotions and company–sponsored community events. Required to maintain high health code, safety and operation practices including parish and state licensing requirements and company inspections.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–2 years of related experience required, additional years of experience and in catering or understanding food preparation and kitchen management preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Responsible Vendor Certification required, ServSafe certificate and/or state food safety certification preferred and may be required.
- Skills: Typing, pc/windows, reading, writing, calculating, and answering multiple phone lines required, ability to use general deli equipment preferred.

- Floor Stockman
Full Time and Part Time. Evenings and weekends required. The primary purpose is to stock shelves, maintain orderly appearance of store, maintain functional maintenance of receiving/warehouse, and assisting customers with carry outs and orders. Also serve as back–up delivery driver.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior related experience a plus.
- Licenses/Certifications: Responsible Vendor Certification required. Valid driver’s license, company auto insurance approval required.
- Skills: Typing and reading.
- Physical Abilities: Regular lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands/arms, stooping, kneeling or bending, and talking or hearing; frequent lifting up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds unassisted, sitting, climbing (ladder), work with pallet jack and box crusher, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
